Whats New?!

Just dusted the cobwebs off this web address...again...so I could give an update on what's been happening at 'The Little House'. Life is still crazy busy with the 3 children. I won't blab on too much so will get straight into it.

We have finished our kitchen and here is the final results!

We're very happy with how it's turned out. And how amazing is my hubby, did the tiling himself!

Next we tackled the driveway. Will let the photos do all the talking...

Our little helper 'Henry'. (note the casual 'hands in pocket' look!)

Grateful for friends!!

Finished product. Its not 'Pebblecrete'..its 'Exposed Aggregate' so it's yet to be sealed. We have also done our front path in the same Exposed Ag and with doing it ourselves it's saved ALOT of money. So far however we've had numerous bumps and scratches to the children whilst riding their bikes, buts it made the house look so much more complete.

And to finish here's my fabulous new quilt cover. I remember drooling over it back in March on the front cover of 'Real Living' and also saw it on 'Beetleshack's Blog'...so when I saw it on sale at Target Online recently I had to splurge.

Thinking I might try and update a little more often now, our baby is almost 17 months old now!!! Where has the time gone?!

He's here!! And hasn't it been awhile!

Just wanted to announce the safe arrival of our newest addition, Hugo. Born back in May in the water..weighing 10lb 0.5oz. He's now 9 weeks old and doing great, life with 3 is busy and fabulous. Finding it difficult to sit in front of the computer for any given amount of time but wanted to jump on to update a few things.

We're just waiting for the plumbing to come and hook up our toilet and basin in the ensuite and also the new pedestal in the main bathroom.

And we're also just in the process of ordering splashback tiles for our kitchen. We've decided to go with white bevelled edge subway tiles..and thinking perhaps grey grout instead of white.

And here i've added a pic of my main bedroom feature wall...just some old frames I picked up and re-painted white with some sanding to give them the vintage look...not everyone's cup of tea, but i love them.

Next on the to do list, get new kitchen bench tops and install open   shelving. Going for this type of look for the benchtops and open shelving. We've got 9ft ceilings, so could go a 3rd shelf if we wanted.

Well I better be off, always something else I 'should' be doing.

What we've been up to...

Hi all,

What glorius weather, i'm loving the warmer days and nights. So we've got a few things happening at the moment and need some advice. We have to choose a laminate for our new benches, here are some sample cards of the ones I grabbed from work. I'm going to have open shelves, keeping the white 2 pac doors and we've got timber floors...what colours you think? We've currently got black granite but that will all be gone.

Also...i'm having issues with the configuration of my living/dining space. Please ignore the computer desk, that is only temporary as we're about to carpet the office and that desk will be outta there. I'm quite happy with the lounge as i dont think it could go anywhere else except along where the TV is..then the only place the TV could go is along where the lounge currently is lol. SO please, add some points. I'm not sure whether to keep the dining table the way it is or turn it horizontal. There are no pendant lights above it currently, but will be one day so want to get the placement of it correct.

Here is the lounge, the only lounge in the space..so no where else for anyone to sit..(also there will be a photo wall about the lounge but will ask more about that further down)

The dining area, table would normally be closer to the air con wall but isn't due to the temporary office. We do have more chairs lol they are out on the deck.

And here I am standing from my bedroom looking out into the area, TV on the tight left. Please excuse the half done kitchen and mess.

And now for the photo wall...here are some layouts I roughly chucked together, not sure whether to incorporate the oval mirror or not..thoughts?

Also, I did a paper doily garland up the other week for Olivia's room..and here it is, I love it as does she.

Finally, heres a sneak peak at some things I've been putting together for Henry's 2nd birthday party next week... so excited!!

The invitations..

The goodie bags...

And the party sign...

Oh and here is my new chair!! Love an Aldi buy...

I think that is all, lol. Hubby is going to attempt installing our office carpet in the next few weeks so looking forward to that.

Take care,
Liz

Whats been happening at The Little House

Its been quite awhile since I've last blogged which I have a super reason for..we are expecting our 3rd child, due 1st May 2012. So I've been suffering the all day nausea associated with it all hence the blogging world being a little quiet from my end. But I'm so pleased that the nausea has settled and I'm feeling more human now. Here is a portrait of bub taken last week @ 12 weeks....

I've also been brainstorming and have figured out what to do with our old bedside table lamps. Here is one in all its glory...instead of selling them I figured I could recover them and put one in Olivia's room and one in the office.

Today I finally had the energy to make a paper doily garland for Olivia's room...its hard to photograph on our 5yr old Canon but you get the idea...should look super cute.

So i'm into full swing of plannig the nursery, which will have to be unisex as we wont be finding out until bub is born.

Take care,
Liz

Road trip and lamps!!

So my girlfriends and I headed on a road trip together last weekend and got ourselves some gear! We started off with 1 bag each..ended up with 1 trolley load each! :) Was a fabulous day..here are some photos of what made it into my trolley..

New european cushions, and white Ofelia throw!! Ruffles..finally some ruffles!! Going to eventually replace the doona cover for something lighter grey, and more feature cushions in front. But money doesn't grow on trees..

Woven Ikea Rug!! Its the perfect size, and vacuum's so well!

And i'm also in the market for some new bedside table lamps for our bedroom. Hubby said if I can get rid of the old chocolate brown ones, I can get some new ones...

Thinking something white, and BIG...

These are cute!!

This week!!

Has been ages since I've blogged.

This week hubby had the week off to get stuck into a few things here at home. He has done the shelving in our hallway linen cupboard, shelving in our office, tiled the ensuite floor and oiled the deck.

I found some great blinds from Bunnings on clearance, $10 each!! Rollers on the french doors and Roman for the office.

It's nice to see these things finally getting done.

 Kids love helping!

Hallway Cupboard. There will be a door on there, with these knobs..

I love these Sonata knobs, always wanted them but wasn't sure where to use them...so yeah, we've got 2 linen cupboards opposite in the hallway, so I think they'll go perfect there.

Office shelves, no door going here..just open.

See that purple section...thats a hidden door!!!!! Very cool, will be handy for christmas tree storage.

 Ensuite just after grouting.

 Just starting the deck....

Finished...excuse our cat..it didn't take her long to walk all over it..grr..

New Roman Blind for office, latte in colour.

New Charcoal Roller blinds.

Until next time,
Liz x
